They promised us a heatwave - and it rained as well.

I am not used to writing about rain in June. It came as a surprise. Just as well I didn’t wash my car.

So I searched for songs about cars and driving. Seems like we spend a lot of time in them.

- Drive by the Cars.

Who's gonna pick you up

When you fall?

Who's gonna hang it up

When you call?

Who's gonna pay attention

To your dreams?

Us teachers will be there for you when you fall.

Final Countdown

Last few weeks of school. Elementary schools still have a few weeks to go and Junior high - High school will finish earlier. Another ear-worm that I have is from this song.

As we write the report cards 📝 for our students, remember that these children are of our future. Choose your words well and write constructive comments to enable the children to work on their challenges to be able to soar. 🌟

“Everybody searching for a hero

People need someone to look up to” Thanks to Whitney Houston

Another special version of the Final Countdown

Activities for the last few weeks of school

Singlish in the North

I am still on a high. This week we celebrated our second concert of Singlish in the North

Here is a snippet of the event. Over 2300 children from all over the North came to sing together

- filmed Anat Dor

Here is what I said on the day of the event.

Tonight we are celebrating the culmination of a process that connects two languages: English and Music

You have come here tonight from all over the Northern District, from the mountains and the valley, from different cities and towns. You have come to sing together after many months of preparation and anticipation for this unique event. It is so exciting to see all of you in front of us in the Beit Shean Amphitheater. We are sure you will enjoy yourselves

This was an amazing collaborative project of two inspectorates, English and Music, two languages mixed into one. An unbelievable event and I will share the official video when it is released.

Zoom in Zoom out conference

Last week we Zoomed in and Zoomed out at another online conference. If you missed it, you can catch the guest lecturers and your colleagues' videos here.

You can view all the highlights here.

Or here

The conference was opened with a video of Queen Elizabeth II (MHDSRIP) interviewing Dr Tziona Levi - Take a look at this here.

Memes

At the conference we asked the participating teachers to create memes.

This was achieved using this site in Hebrew - https://g.hafalafel.com/

This is also connected to today’s digital of the week.

Mondly-Skillz

This week we will be broadcasting the final English Skillz competition for all the Mondly users that reached the finals. Learn in Tune would like to wish all the finalists the best of luck for the competition. Remember the first prize for everyone is learning English in a fun and digital way. Best of luck to all the contestants.

You can find further details here.

My smile of the week

17-year-old Putri Ariani from Indonesia has the voice of an angel! Watch as Simon Cowell goes on stage to ask for a second song from Putri.

She definitely is a superstar and deserving of the applause and the respect.

Digital Tool of the Week

Memecam (Thanks to Hili Zavarro for this app link)

Musical Joke of the Week

Avril Lavigne could have just called her song Skater boy instead of Sk8er Boi.

Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?
