Welcome to all the broadcast newcomers

Broadway Performers have produced a beautiful rendition of “Bring him home” from “Les Misérables" to release the hostages that were kidnapped on the 7th of October. Together, through music, they pray for their safe release. Hoping for a speedy return to their loved ones.

Sorry for being out of touch for a minute - I have been busy with material preparation and teaching in evacuee centers.

- Putri Ariani - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. She is a 17-year-old teenager who grew up in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and has been passionate about music since she was only 3.

Mindfulness

I do believe that we as educators are trying to keep our heads above water and a brave front for our pupils. We admire all the educators that are working in abnormal conditions be it at home online, evacuation centers, and classes with many children. Look after yourselves and your pupils. This is not an easy time for us and I am a true believer that music has an important role to play in our healing processes. If singing is not your thing, what about plain breathing and relaxation after a long hard day.

Here is an explanation all about relaxation and mindfulness https://www.mindful.org/mindfulness-meditation-anxiety/

and a beautiful relaxing music mix to help you with this process

Thank you to all the teachers that are sending in examples of beautiful work done with songs and English. Special thanks to Tali Brunner who took “Imagine” by John Lennon and did great work with a green screen.

Imagine - Here is an idea to spread some hope

Take the song Imagine and sing it in English and your home language. Here are links to Imagine in three different languages sung by children. Please fill your students singing the song in two or three languages and send them to us. Please attain parental permission so that we will be able to share your beautiful work.

The National English Inspectorate is working very hard to produce booklets and activities for children that have been evacuated. There are also a number of initiatives that are being offered online. I still meet teachers that do not know about these initiatives like “Dig into Digital'' and many more. Join one of these admin controlled communities to stay in the know.

Here is a great example of one of the projects

Dear English Teacher,

If you and your students are involved in doing something meaningful in English to lift the spirits of others and themselves during this difficult time, we'd like to hear about it. Perhaps other teachers would like to adapt your idea to their students' level and context.

Please fill in this short questionnaire IN ENGLISH.

Only include photos and videos if you have parents' consent to do so.

Thank you for spreading light,

The National English Inspectorate

Music and Movement in the classroom

Did you ever think that those 5 minutes at the end of the lesson or the beginning could be filled with exciting movement dances and English

Take a look at these dances and subscribe to their channels.

I am passionate about using music in classes as well

This is a great portrayal of me and my music with this Keanu Reeves look alike.

When I listen to music with others as to when I listen to music by myself.
