Pete Seeger wrote in the late 1950’s

To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down

A time to dance, a time to mourn

A time to cast away stones

A time to gather stones together.

This song really hits home for me. Not only is it beautiful, yet for me it means that there is a time and place for everything. Jenna Hartel says that Turn, turn, turn is a hit 1965 folk song written by Pete Seeger and performed by the Byrds. It expresses the reality of a changing, or turning, world in which there is a time and place for everything. Applied to an academic context, the song suggests a natural ebb and flow of ideas and perspectives.

Hebrew to English

Teachers approach me about using certain Hebrew songs and translate them into English. This is not an easy job yet it is possible. Please remember that one needs the permission of the original artist or lyricist to do this publicly. Here are a few examples that Learn in Tune did a few years ago.
