Welcome to all the teachers that joined up this week. Great to have you in our group.

I know that I didn’t have anything to do with it, yet the last update had many songs about rain and then …”Listen to the falling rain, listen to it pour” sang Jose Feliciano. On that note I hope you are dry and warm. I shared this song last update, and I found another cover it. I still think it is very apt.

Father and Daughter duo called Gee Gee and Soluna. Their Youtube channel is full of golden oldies and their harmonies are amazing.

Check out play list channel here

This was sent to me by Susie Enteen to show the power of music and effect on the brain. I urge you to read the information about it on below the video on Youtube.

Thanks to Leora for sharing this wonderful song about empowering teenage girls and I think it is a wonderful song. It’s called "Little Me" and is a song by British girl group Little Mix. The group was formed during the show of “X-Factor”.

“Wish I knew back then

What I know now

Wish I could somehow

Go back in time and maybe listen to my own advice”

I am adding the Youtube version with lyrics and I am sure you can agree that this song can be used in high school very well. I will be adding it to our website with lesson plans and ideas.

*Digital Tools*

I want to promote two colleagues of mine who have amazing Youtube channels that if you haven’t subscribed, I strongly suggest you do.

She has amazing and creative videos with excellent and useful tips for your teaching.

Adele publishes regular videos called: “It’s a quickie”. Great tips and they are short and to the point.

Last broadcast I published a background remover tool. This week I wanted to remove the background and I used two different programs with different results. Therefore, it only seems fair that I share the second tool.

Remove Image Background: 100% automatically – in 5 seconds – without a single click – for free.

*I did not mention the “X- Factor” by chance. I mentioned that something big is coming.

Well here is the first teaser:

Wait for it…

The National English Inspectorate and Learn in Tune are hosting a Virtual Talent Competition for 3rd -6th Graders called the E-Factor.

Just putting out there. Something to think about and to get excited about. Further details will be published in the next update and the official opening is after Hannukah. It is going to be huge and amazing and a real opportunity for your pupils to shine.

Watch this space for details

Thank you to Asnat Lumer for this suggestion.

"Words Don't Come Easy to Me" This is a beautiful song for 5th and 6th grades.

This is a game that the pupils like. Choose a song and play it. The kids walk around the class quietly while they listen to the song. When you stop the song, the pupils freeze and read a word from a card ( that the teacher show) out load. It can be a word from the song... Or other word that you choose. Do it again.. When the music stops the pupils will act out the word.

Final Word

The English from Home site is being constantly updated with new ideas.

Keep a watch out for this. You can see a recording and the slides of the presentation at the Early Learners' Conference
