This is a bi-weekly broadcast from the Learn in Tune program of the Ministry of Education in Israel. This is not a news broadcast in any way, yet I will start with the tragedy of this morning.

My heart goes out to the many people that lost their lives and were injured in this terrible incident. To the families that are affected, may you know no more sorrow. I quote Israel's Chief Sephardi Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef who said that now is not the time to lay blame. "I call on the public to pray for the health of the injured and support the families who have lost loved ones."

I believe that music has a way of uplifting one in sad times. I found this beautiful soothing Chabad Music.

Many things have happened since our last broadcast and I will relate to them now.

Earth day

Last Thursday was Earth day and the world celebrated the glory of the earth. You may ask, why am I sending this out now. Well for three reasons.

1) Everyday should be Earth day.

2) This broadcast has a bi-weekly timetable

3) You now have excellent ideas for your next Earth day and you will be super ready.

Thanks to Elite who sent in these wonderful links and ideas that I am sharing with you.

Here you will find the words and a few activities as well.

I will add these links to our site as well.

And of course, my personal favourite

Thanks to Karen for this lovely song.

And thanks to another Karen, Karen Carpenter who left the world way too early. The Carpenters were my all favorite duo and they sang from the “top of the world.“

Enjoy this Karaoke Version

Joke of the Week related to music

The Black Eyed peas can sing a tune but the chick peas can only hummus one.

The PS22 Chorus sang at the Oscars this last week. I have been an active follower over the years. And I urge you to follow them too.

I was asked this week how can I get my students to settle down since coming back to school . I suggest using songs and chants. Have a look at this video and see how they do it.

If you know of a great chant or song idea to settle down in class- share them with us.

I will end of this week with another rendition of the beautiful SOS singing group
