Update 64

I’m not at that age, yet the updates are. So well done to the updates. If you are saying that you have not seen 64 updates, then please feel free to visit the Updates Archive to view the ones that you have missed. The archive has all the past juicy updates with ideas for using music in your classroom to enhance learning English.

The cat is out of the bag and the E-Talent competition is underway. Right now, we suggest that you look for E-Talent in your school.

Here are the general details.

Over the next few weeks, we will be holding Zoom sessions for all the centers to elaborate even further about this competition and more events being run by the national office. You regional inspectors will let you know of the details

If you do not know what kind of talent to look for, take a peek at last year’s winners.

I love watching shows on Broadway and The Westend. I wish I could do it more. However, there are a lot of musicals that have been filmed for TV. I strongly recommend you get to see “Hamilton”, “Billy Elliot” and “Dear Evan Hansen”. The music in all the shows is absolutely amazing and there is so much energy and English that can be used to work with your pupils in the upper grade.

Hot off the press – Look out for this month’s “Spread the Word”. The digital newspaper with lots of updates from the National Inspectorate.

The reality show called, The Masked Singer is starting this week and I think there will be a lot of English songs shown in the show. Hopefully clean songs that we can do with pupils.

I was privileged to take part in the Edstart Tech conference where they celebrated 5 years of entrepreneurship and the guest speaker was the entrepreneur behind this weeks digital tool.

Digital Tool of the week

Piggy - Create whatever you want to - Create stunning content on your phone from presentations and documents, to web pages, greeting cards, invitations, blog posts and more. Look for it on the Playstore or IOS

Musical Joke of the Week

I was addicted to the Hokey Pokey – but I truend myself around.

&

Everyone told Sam not to sing – but Samsung anyway.

I guess two corny jokes with but in the sentence as a conjunction.

I love using humour where I can enhance my lessons and make them fun. On cannot loathe something that one enjoys.

Thanks, Bobby Mcferrin, for putting it so eloquently.
