Update 67

November is coming to an end and in rolls December. Hanukkah is around the corner and that brings the festival of light. Winter breaks and general festivities are in play. I am excited for that.

“ ‘Cause every step that I take

There’s a chance to do good

If I brighten someone’s day

I can light up the world

I have so much to give I can help someone out

And that’s what tikkun olam is all about. “

These are words from Yonina’s new song called “Tikkun Olam”. Simple words that can be taught and sung.

This also is the time to shop for things we don’t really need (Black Friday). There are so many adverts it is mind-blowing. Great time for maths teachers to teach percentages.

So here is a list of a few Hanukah Parodies - Some recent and some not...

West Side Chanukah

Bohemian Chanukah (A Queen Adaptation)

Hasmonean – Maccabeats (A Hamilton Hannukah)

We on Fire - Kippalive

Bruria Greenboim has created a Hanukah Breakout room on Google forms. I recommend it for your pupils. You can create your own using this template by clicking on the top right hand corner.

Samar Abo Hof from Deir Hanna

I just want to share you with my own idea of ”Learn in Tune”. I just prepared a worksheet of a song “The nights”for my 5th and 6th pupils, I like the song and my pupils do. I play it at the beginning of each English lesson, it is working great so far👍🏻

Here is a link to the page

and a link to the song

Please share your activities with us. Feel free to send them by WhatsApp or email.

E-Talent

I am happy to say that registration has begun and we are impressed with the flow of teachers registering their pupils. Don’t wait until the last minute to register.

Here is the link for easy access. - https://forms.gle/JwS4aMkBqRCRJNB16. Registration is important as you need a code to film your students.

If you are still not sure what E-Talent is and what it can do for your pupils – Please check out the updated information on the Learn in Tune Site (bit.ly/learnintune).

I am copying this here for those of you that are still looking for professional development in English. There are still a few places for teachers in these courses. Please sign up to these courses for elementary school teachers. All the details can be found here

There are other online English courses for elementary school teachers as well that can be found at this link.

Learn in Tune is on the road

We visited Alozorov School in Hadera this week. The fifth and sixth graders were treated to activities with song, movement and dance. The students and teachers had a great time whist enjoying learning English. One can see pics on our site.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teachers were in the limelight this week as we celebrated “Yom Hamoreh”

Beautiful, devoted messages to teachers all over the country were displayed on social media. We really are a special bunch.

This video of Adele on stage with her English teacher is not to be missed

Digital Tool of the Week

Kialo - Kialo-edu.com

Kialo is a free tool used by educators world-wide to teach critical thinking, facilitate rational classroom debate and explain controversial issues.

This tool can be used from 6th grade and up

It is an easy tool for students to debate with pros and cons. It is very easy to set up and easy to follow and respond.

Go on – give it a try

Musical Joke of the Week

My Goldfish are named Major, Minor and Diminished. The only way I can tell them apart is by their scales

Have a great weekend all
