Good morning one and all...

I know we had a few more teachers joining these broadcasts so a huge shoutout to all of you and I hope that you will enjoy and benefit from these broadcasts.

24th of December today which means that for many of our followers it is Christmas Eve. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a great winter break.

One of the winners of last year's E-Talent competition produced this amazing Christmas Melody. Alma Qees from Abu Snan.

Independent Learning

I spent the last few days in Shlomi learning about independent learning and what that means for us as teachers and for our students. Amazing digital components have been created for your pupils to work on independently. Grade Five and Six through to High School as well. These courses are in the process of being rolled out to all schools. Follow the relevant channels for details. I can tell you that they are really something to look forward to. Well done to all the pedagogical and digital work that went into planning them. Keep a look out.

In the meantime, feel free to read this article about independent digital learning. I really believe this is the correct path for future student learning.

We are not the owners of knowledge anymore and we need to empower our students to learn for themselves. This is not an easy task, yet it is not impossible. I will be addressing this topic more in 2022. In fact I will not talk about it anymore this year. 😂

"Teach your children well… the past is just a goodbye". I made up a catch phrase this week, "We need to review our past to reflect, so that we can use this to effect" (the future) We need to be changing with the times and education for the future.

E-Talent Update

I am still receiving questions so I have decided to reclarify all that you need to know. I have decided to clarify this process. Your school needs to be registered by the 31st of December to receive a Flipgrid code. Even if the names of the pupils change, you still have the code.

Parent consent forms will be sent to all schools that register. Videos need to be submitted to the Flipgrid by the 31st of January. This date is final.

Please contact me if you have any questions at learnntune@gmail.com

Here is the presentation that explains it all.

Looking forward to receiving your students’ entries
