Another fortnight and another broadcast.

Welcome to all the newcomers and glad that you are here.

I would like to talk about a “hot” topic that is important for our existence.

I do not want to use cliché’s and we all know how important this is.

Ten Simple Things You Can Do to Help Protect the Earth

· Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.

· Volunteer. Volunteer for clean-ups in your community. You can get involved in protecting your watershed, too. · Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and value of our natural resources. · Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean. · Choose sustainable. Learn how to make smart seafood choices at www.fishwatch.gov. · Shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag. · Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch off when you leave the room! · Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change. · Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the home and office. · Bike more. Drive less.

Songs Around the World

Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people.

I love this version, “What a wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong

Digital Tools of the Week

Wordle – Have you been bitten by the Wordle bug. The word game has gone from dozens of players to hundreds of thousands in a few months. I suggest you try it out.

Thanks to Bruria Greenboim for sharing this amazing idea. You can create your own Wordle puzzle for your students. Use this to practice vocabulary and have fun with language.

Thanks to Sigalit Arditi for this gem

Guess Who

Here us a nice online 'Guess Who' game to practice correct question formation in the present simple.

Musical Joke of the Week

My neighbour just banged on the wall at 4:20am.

Can you believe that? Luckily I was playing music. He shouted, “Can we have a little respect please?”

So I shouted back, “I am not a big Aretha Franklin fan, but this one’s for you.”

Have a fantastic warm and dry weekend.
