It’s the final countdown
Yes, the E-Talent competition will be closing the submission doors at 16:00 today.
We are overwhelmed with the amount of entries that we received this year. Just in the last day, we have received over two hundred entries. When I say entries, I mean elementary children performing in English. We received children making soup, brownies, judo explanations and beautiful singers from all over Israel. Well done to the pupils and their teachers.
The judges are getting ready and we will start judging on Sunday.
The results will be published at the Zoom in Zoom out Conference which will take place on the 8th march at 17:00 on Zoom. Come along to see your colleagues showing great teaching techniques and ideas that work. There will also be a virtual poster exhibition.

And we have a surprise guest at our conference - DJ Raphi. He will be speaking to us about his Youtube viral videos and his passion. You can see his latest video that came out this week.
You can’t not get up and dance to it. Your pupils will love the movement, the message and the English.
Children in the North, sing in English
This is not a new concept. We tried to do this two years ago, yet the Covid put a stop to the grand finale. We are trying again and I welcome the collaboration between the National English Inspectorate and the National Music Inspectorate. We are working hard to practice the songs with the pupils in English and they are learning how to sing properly too. The children and teachers are really enjoying the process and we are enjoying the progress. Here is a list of the songs that we are singing.
Hallelujah-Lyrics: Shimrit Orr; Music: Kobi Oshrat
Let it be- Lyrics & Music: John Lennon Paul McCartney
Do Re Mi- Music: Richard Rodgers; Lyrics: Oscar Hammerstein II
A Million Dreams - Lyrics & Music: Benj Pasek / Justin Paul
Light- Or - Music & Lyrics: Naomi Shemer; English version: Nadavi Noked
When I asked the teachers which song they are teaching first, they said Do Re Mi
I asked why - and teachers told me that there is an Arabic version to this song and the children knew it.
I thank you for this gem. The words translate beautifully
Phil Collins sang,
In learning you will teach
And in teaching you will learn.
I am glad to say that I learn so much from the people I work with on our road to lifelong learning
Son of man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Someday you'll walk tall with pride
Son of man, a man in time you'll be
“Son of Man” (Tarzan Soundtrack)
