Thank you to all our wonderful followers that get to read this broadcast bi-weekly. I appreciate your time and comments.
Today’s topics are music and movement related.
In South Africa, where I grew up, there is an amazing boys school choir called the “Drakensberg Boys Choir. The mission of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School is to prepare boys for life and leadership through excellence in music, academics, physical development and social enrichment, in a Christian environment.
I love listening to their music as I am a fan of choral singing. This week they brought out an amazing video where they sing and move with their local rugby team (The Sharks). Have a look at the positive energy and enthusiasm of the plates and the choir students together to “Follow You”
Really uplifting.
"Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth." -Mark Twain.
Another way of “following” is supporting your school in sport activities. This DF Malan school takes cheerleading to another level.
I bring this topic up as this year the National Office is offering ways to incorporate music, song and movement in the classroom with Learn in Tune and the option to incorporate English in your physical education lessons at school. Collaborate with the PE teacher to teach words that relate to sport and exercise in English. Look for details on the English section of the Ministry of Education Portal.

Here is another example of following - Follow the leader
Follow DJ Raphi and his amazing moves.
I am sure you all know that DJ Raphi will be at next week's Online Conference
Please register for the Zoom In Zoom Out Online English Teachers' Conference on Tuesday 8/3 at 17:00. Don't miss out! https://bit.ly/zoominout22
“Zoom in, to get a new perspective
Zoom out, to see we're all connected
The distant star is reachable
Every moment is teachable”
Ringo Starr needs no introduction but his song - “Zoom in Zoom out” is a great introduction for our conference. It was released in 2021
Looking forward to seeing you there.
I know that these bi weekly broadcasts are admin controlled yet this does not mean we don;t want to hear from you. If you want to say something and if you want to share something please reply to us. I know that many teachers are using movement, song and exercise in their English lessons. Please share the how, whats and wheres with us. If we are allowed to share, we will gladly share.
