What’s on your mind, Howie?
This is what I am asked everyday on Facebook. I am not there everyday yet I still want to tell you what is on my mind…
New York for one. It features every so often in this post as does Billy Joel.
Yesterday I was in Kiryat Gat and I met with the junior and high school teachers organized by Eti Solomon. I met enthusiastic teachers willing to learn new tools and techniques for teaching vocabulary. The teachers sang, played, laughed, engaged and a comment I heard at the end was, “The time went so quickly as we were having fun”. What I took away from this experience is that engaged students are happy students. Prepared teachers are happy teachers. The more you are ready for the lesson, the more time you will have to facilitate in class. If a teacher works harder than a student in class, something is not right.
Here is an interesting article by Valerie Forgeard about how teachers make a difference in students' lives.
I need to reshare Taylor Mali as well. What do teacher’s make?
I found a new channel on Youtube. Mooseclumps
Here he is counting to 5 with Billy Joel. Yes I was curious as well.
Very cute for our younger learners and a chance to sing to Billy Joel’s mastery.
E-Talent Competition - Now is the time to register
Over 160 schools have already registered for E-Talent 22-23. This number has doubled in the past week. You have until the end of December to register and until the end of January to submit your students’ performances.
A reminder that this year we are glad to include 7th and 8th grades as well. Each school will be allowed to send 5 performances only. There is no limit to how many children can be in the performance. This means that if you have more acts in the competition, you will need to have a mini E-talent competition in your school to find the performances that you want to submit. If you would like to register already please fill in this form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdidBCzY4d8HuNMPdP-eWgCJN9-hj0C4HX-wq5AHjMSibq0zQ/viewform
Within a few days of registration, you will receive a unique code for the Flip grid, for your school. Your recordings will be uploaded to Flip and that is how we will receive your students’ amazing submissions.
Please see the presentation for more details about E- Talent
Fifa 2022 Hope your world cup soccer related lessons are going well. I was asked to find pictures and ideas around the soccer world cup. Here is a list of ideas and links for all ages that you might find interesting.

Ditch that Textbook
He is Matt Miller. It’s his passion to equip teachers to thrive in this new era of education and think differently about the craft of teaching.
Thank you to Svetlana Tunik for sharing such a wonderful resource. Worthwhile to subscribe to his blog as well
Musical Joke of the Week
The cook said to Frank, “Mr Sinatra, we just got an order for 100 wildebeest pate sandwiches”.
Frank replied, well then, start spreading the gnus!”
And one more from Billy Joel “We didn’t start the fire”
Take a look at an analysis of the song as well.
