The Israeli performer Eden Golan, who was Israel’s entrant for the current year's Eurovision Song Contest, performed her tune titled "October Rain" at a rally held in Tel Aviv this week.

Originally, "October Rain" was intended to be Golan's song submission for the contest. However, the European Broadcasting Union determined that the song contained political messaging and consequently disqualified it from being performed.

This song is now an earworm for me - and I hear it over and over again in my mind. Praying and hoping for a speedy and safe return of ALL the hostages.

Take a listen to this - Nitay Twito with a cover of Eden Golan’s original song.

Eden Golan did very well in the competition and managed to get to 5th place. Try singing this Karoake version of “Hurricane” with your students.

Well Done Eden

Are advertisements just for advertising?

After watching some adverts are we left with this WOW feeling?

I am not trying to promote any specific product. I am trying to show that many advertisements can be used to enhance lessons. They can be used for listening comprehension, understanding, predicting what will be next etc.

Take a look at this video with Ed Shereen.

Musical Joke of the Week

I’m thankful for the Foo Fighters because I’ve never been threatened by a foo and that means that they are doing a great job on the frontlines

The Pretender -

The Foo Fighters.

Wikipedia claims - The term foo fighters was used by Allied aircraft pilots during World War II to describe various unidentified flying objects or mysterious aerial phenomena seen in the skies over both the European and Pacific theaters of operations.

Though foo fighters initially described a type of UFO reported and named by the U.S. 415th Night Fighter Squadron, the term was also commonly used to mean any UFO sighting from that period.[1] Formally reported from November 1944 onwards, foo fighters were presumed by witnesses to be secret weapons employed by the enemy.
