Will i. am sings with Sesame Street

“If what I am is what's in me

 Then I'll stay strong -

 that's who I'll be and

I will always be the best "me" that I can be.

There's only one me, I am it have a dream

I'll follow it It's up to me to try.” Taken from Sesame Street and Will i.am.

I’m finding it a little difficult to keep up with regular posting with the situation in our country. Yet when I stop to think that there are pupils, our children that are still growing up, with a need to learn, then I am assured that there is a need for these broadcasts. The ideas that are broadcasted to you are for your pupils and to enhance your lessons, now, and in the future.

Hoping for peaceful times ahead

Here is a cover of the song that I posted earlier in the broadcast. The song is fast for EFL students and can be slowed down by playing with the speed control in Youtube. Once the pupils have achieved automaticity (fluency) you can speed up the song to its original speed

Harry Styles sings about the sign of the times

This song is intended for junior high and high school students. I have created a worksheet with two exercises with the help of TWEE

And another cover by Tanner Townsendhttps://youtu.be/ymNFFKX5JfE?list=RDymNFFKX5JfE

Happy New Year

Still my most favourite of the New Year videos

“A new year rising

A new beginning

Lift your head up

Turn yourself 'round

The world is spinning

Feel the magic

Of a new day

Open your heart

To a fresh start

Send your fears away” Ein Prat

May the New Year be much safer, more peaceful and a return of all the hostages to their loved ones.

I am sharing a link to Jacob Richman’s page. All the credit goes to him for his links to Rosh Hashana activities

Mondly

Did you know that the Ministry of Education has purchased many licenses for Mondly for all the 4th,5th and 6th graders. This will be the last year of this agreement.

What is Mondly? An app that can be played on any device and Utilizes a combination between the bilingual and grammar-translation method, whereby students embark on a journey to become functional bilinguals, with a strong emphasis on verbal proficiency. MOE will grant access to all grade 5-6 pupils for the duration of the year. The aim is to enrich pupils' language learning experience with Mondly. The children achieve this by immersing themselves in the game and learning new vocabulary, speaking and reading.

If you are a 4th, 5th or 6th grade teacher and have not registered - please do so here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdebld8FF2OsjtsEuUadlzdiP89ugrZd3qjSo7IV_tJ3hIrSQ/viewform

Quotes about new beginnings

“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” —Carl Bard

“Each new day is a blank page in the diary of your life. The secret of success is in turning that diary into the best story you possibly can.” —Douglas Pagels

My happy corner - Smile of the week

This has not been a happy week at all yet I will share a few good finds

Imagine if our daily lives were filled so much harmony

One of the most beautiful aspects of music is its power to bring people together, transcending differences and fostering harmony. Collaborations between musicians from different backgrounds often result in magical creations that blend genres, styles, and languages seamlessly. Through these collaborations, artists not only celebrate diversity but also cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other's cultures. The result is a harmonious fusion of sounds that resonates with listeners worldwide.

Our hearts will go on for this little girl

Digital Tool of the Week

Twinpics

Use AI to generate a matching pic. Your goal is to match the image .The closer you get to the original picture, the higher your score will be.

Suggestion - Great start to an English lesson - Have the pupils use their English to generate a picture using AI/ See who receives the highest score. Pictures change daily

Matt Miller from “Ditch that Textbook” suggests 40 AI tools for the classroom
