And what a fortnight it has been. The climax being the “Speakathon” which ended on Thursday morning. We spent 18 hours together, English teachers, techno stars, developers and hacked various tools to encourage better spoken English. It wasn’t easy to stay up all night but the fruits of our labour were definitely worth it.

I am showing this as an example for an idea for the future. Imagine if a few teachers got together in a certain area and “hacked songs” and created worthwhile lessons around them. This can be achieved by anyone and for any age group. I am putting this idea out there. If anyone or group of teachers are interested, contact me and let’s set it up.

Well done to Shani from Kastiel school who answered the questions correctly. She had her name in bright lights on our site www.bit.ly/learnintune for two weeks. Who will be next? Have your pupils click on the link for this week’s competition and have your student’s name in dazzling light.

We were in Beer Sheva at a conference this week and the teachers sang too beautifully. I was talking about the song Hokey Pokey and I was introduced to the Pinocchio song which is very catchy.

Give it a try.

These conferences are so amazing as we get to hear what teachers are doing with music and song in their classrooms to hear first hand. You guys are awesome.

Digital tool for the week

Class Dojo

ClassDojo is a classroom communication app used to share reports between parents and teachers. It connects parents and teachers on a student's conduct and performance through real-time reports as well as a feed for photos and videos during the school day. Keeps your class organized and motivated in a fun way as well.

I typed in best clean songs for 2020 – Here is the playlist
