When we are allowed to go shopping, I find myself looking for retro ideas. Oxford Dictioniaries states that "retro" refers to clothes or music whose style or design is imitative of those of the recent past. Perhaps to remind myself of the past by buying a tape recorder that records old cassettes to USB. Yes these gadets actually exist. You can take your cassettes and upload them to your computer.
So I was humming a song that I heard on the radio and my pupils asked me how I know that song. It is by Ariana Grande. I understand why I was being asked. How can I be an "old teacher" and listen to that kind of music. This led to a discussion of older songs that have been reused and adapted into newer songs. In this case it was "Ariana Grande's" song called "7 Rings based on the "Julie Andrews" version of "These are a few of my favourite things".
We have a rich history of beautiful songs songs that have been remastered and adapted for the changing times. Some are better, some are worse and some are just different.
Here are three songs. The second and third links have been adapted from the original.
You decide which you prefer.

Display your lesson backgtound via Zoom/Meet in many ways. Choose from many options like timers, videos, icons for quiet and collaboration, random name pickers etc. All on the one screen. Worthwhile to have a look. Thanks Sarah Yom Tov for this.
